Professional Project Budget Management Education

Behind Every Successful Project Budget

We've been helping UK businesses make sense of their project finances since 2018. Started by professionals who got tired of seeing great projects fail because of poor budget planning.

How We Started

Back in 2017, I was watching another promising project collapse. Not because the idea was bad or the team was incompetent, but because nobody really understood where the money was going.

The budget looked fine on paper. Spreadsheets balanced, everyone nodded in meetings. But three months in, costs were spiralling and nobody could explain why.

That's when I realized something: most people are brilliant at what they do, but terrible at predicting what it'll cost. And even worse at tracking where money goes once a project starts moving.

So we built pelorianquix to bridge that gap. We take the confusion out of project budgets and help teams focus on what they do best.

What Drives Us

Clarity Over Complexity

We believe budget management should be straightforward. No jargon, no overcomplicated systems, just clear visibility into your project finances.

Real-World Focus

Every process we develop gets tested in actual business environments. If it doesn't work in practice, we don't recommend it.

Partnership Approach

We're not consultants who disappear after delivering a report. We work alongside your team to implement lasting improvements.

Meet The Founder

Marcus Whitfield

Founder & Lead Budget Strategist

Started his career managing construction project budgets where a 5% miscalculation could mean hundreds of thousands in overruns. That experience taught him the importance of getting numbers right from day one.

After 15 years helping companies across manufacturing, tech, and professional services, Marcus founded pelorianquix to share practical budget management approaches that actually work in busy business environments.

"The best budget system is the one your team will actually use. Everything else is just expensive consulting theatre."

Our Method

Built From Real Experience

We've learned that successful project budgets need three things: accurate initial estimates, clear tracking during execution, and quick adjustments when reality doesn't match the plan.

Most budget failures happen because teams focus on creating perfect initial estimates but have no system for managing changes. Projects evolve, priorities shift, and unexpected costs appear. That's normal business life.

Our approach helps you handle that reality:

  • Start with realistic estimates based on actual project data
  • Build in buffers for the unexpected costs that always appear
  • Track spending patterns, not just total amounts
  • Create simple systems for approving budget adjustments
  • Focus on trends and early warning signs
